BROWNIE BATTER OVERNIGHT OATS

I've already mentioned a couple times (at least on IG) that I'm totally in love with oats and that I'm eating them literally on a daily basis.

So what's better than having a nutritious breakfast (thanks lovely oats) which also tastes like dessert aka brownie batter.

I wanted it to be a bit higher in protein, so I used a little bit protein powder but you can easily replace with more cacao or oats.

And for all of you who don't know what "overnight oats" are, don't worry!

Its basically like oatmeal (ingredients wise) but you prepare it a little different.

Instead of cooking the oats you let the mixture soak "overnight" that's why they're called how they are called ;-).

Because you let it soak and don't cook it, it becomes very creamy and rich in flavor (tastes pretty similar to cake batter).

Every now and then I prefer overnight oats, especially in summer when I'm craving oatmeal but it's way to hot.

But since it's currently really cold here in Germany I don't wanna go without a warm portion of oats in the morning.

Fortunately you can eat overnight oats warm as well, just heat them up in the morning after they've soaked overnight.

Alright folks, I know y'all want that recipe , so let's go:

BROWNIE BATTER OVERNIGHT OATS:

-90g steel cut oats

-15g protein powder

-15g cacao

-1 TBSP flax meal

-300ml soy milk

-1/2 vanilla extract

-sweetener of your choice

1. Fill all the ingredients in a big jar and shake it well.

2. Put a lid on it and place it in the fridge overnight.

3. Take it out of the fridge and top it with your favorite toppings (in my case peanut butter, peanuts, chocolate)

4. Post it on Instagram with #fitgreenrecipes .
