VEGAN SOFT PRETZEL BITES
Updated: Jan 15
Feeling snackish...? Then try these soft pretzel bites!
They are so easy to make (way easier than I expected), super delicious and basically only need 5 ingredients!
Just dip them in your favorite dipping sauce, and here you go... The best fall, soul food snack EVER!

Total time: 55 minutes
Servings: 4
Macros: 250cal/8P/39C/5F
INGREDIENTS:
-1/2 TBSP maple syrup
-1 package (7g) instant yeast
-2 cups (250g) flour
-2/3 cup (165ml) lukewarm water
-a pinch of salt
Bath:
-at least 4 cups (1 Liter) water
-1/4 cup (35g) baking soda
Optional:
-vegan butter or oil (for brushing)
-flaky sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Stir together the water, maple syrup and the yeast, let it sit for 5 minutes. Then add flour and salt and mix/knead until it's a soft kinda smooth dough (if it's too sticky, simply add a little more flour).
2. Let the dough rise for approximately 30 minutes, then shape it into a log and cut into little bites. Preheat the oven to 185 Celsius/370 Fahrenheit and prepare the bath by bringing the water and the baking soda to a boil in a big pot.
3. Poach the dough bites for about 30 minutes (they'll swim on top when they're ready) and place them on a lined baking tray. Brush them with some oil or butter and sprinkle over a pinch of flaky se salt.
4. Bake for 12-16 minutes until golden brown, enjoy!
